A 6m teepee made of "Plus" tent fabric in a wonderfully secluded natural setting close to the holiday home, for cozy evenings by the fire.
Some clients have limited space available, and in this case, they had to level the ground somewhat. The adjacent sloped area isn't ideal, as during heavy rainfall, a lot of water flows down the slope, and the water can erode the tepee. We therefore recommended that the client dig a deep trench on the slope to divert some of the rainwater.
Due to the location, the east-facing orientation was also somewhat challenging, as it faced the slope. In such cases, we rely on the client knowing which direction the bad weather is coming from and where the wind is blowing. Using this local information, we can then determine the entrance. We were ultimately able to position the entrance in such a way that the smoke exhaust was still guaranteed and access to the tepee remained easily accessible. In such situations, it takes some experience to find a good compromise for all factors.
