Yurt construction with a difference! In November 2024, we were able to erect a 5-meter yurt in a vaulted cellar in Schaffhausen. This required careful planning and measuring of the space, as the yurt barely fit in. It now serves as a cozy retreat for the youth center.
The yurt was originally ordered without insulation, but after some time of use, they realized that the basement climate simply wouldn't keep it warm. So, the yurt was quickly retrofitted with insulation to create a more comfortable space.
High-quality wool insulation also has the ability to keep out ambient moisture. Its high moisture absorption capacity creates a dry and comfortable interior climate. Thus, it not only retains heat but has far more functionality than you might think.
